How to Add a Manager to Your Google Business Profile

Step-by-step guide to adding a manager or owner to your Google Business Profile so others can help manage your listing.

Need to give someone access to manage your Google Business Profile? Here’s how to add a manager or owner in just a few steps.

Manager vs. Owner: What’s the Difference?

RoleWhat They Can Do
OwnerFull control—edit profile, add/remove users, delete listing
ManagerEdit profile, respond to reviews, post updates (can’t add users or delete)

Step 1: Go to Your Business Profile

Visit business.google.com and sign in with the Google account that owns the profile.

Select your business if you have multiple listings.

Step 2: Open Business Profile Settings

Click the three dots menu (⋮) or look for Settings in the left sidebar.

Select Business Profile settings or Managers.

Step 3: Click “Add” to Invite Someone

In the Managers section, click Add or the + button.

Enter the person’s email address. They must have a Google account associated with that email.

Step 4: Choose Their Role

Select the appropriate role:

  • Owner – Full control (use sparingly)
  • Manager – Can manage but not delete or add users

For most situations, Manager is the right choice.

Step 5: Send the Invitation

Click Invite or Add.

The person will receive an email invitation. They must accept it to gain access.

Step 6: They Accept the Invitation

The invited person needs to:

  1. Open the invitation email from Google
  2. Click Accept
  3. Sign in with their Google account

Once accepted, they’ll appear in your managers list.

Managing Existing Users

To Remove Someone

  1. Go to Business Profile settings > Managers
  2. Find the person you want to remove
  3. Click the X or Remove next to their name
  4. Confirm removal

To Change Someone’s Role

  1. Remove them from the current role
  2. Re-add them with the new role

Common Issues

“This email is not associated with a Google account”

The person needs to create a Google account with that email first, or use a different email that already has a Google account.

Invitation not received

  • Check spam/junk folder
  • Make sure the email address is correct
  • Try resending the invitation

Can’t find the Managers option

You may not be the owner of the profile. Only owners can add or remove managers.
